Sean tells us his story.

The HNCSN has been great as it has allowed me to access people going through the same thing as myself and speak openly about the cancer without fear or judgement. I found a lump on my ear and collarbone in 2011 and was diagnosed with HNC shortly afterwards. At the time I was living in Palmerston North and my whole world was turned upside down. I travelled up to Auckland for my treatment and looked for support networks but could only find ones from overseas. Until I found HNCSN, which was a great support system for me even if I was unable to attend the physical meetings in Auckland I always felt supported.I travel around the country selling tye-dye at fairs and festivals and always carry the networks brochures and cards with me to spread the group to the whole of NZ and let people know that they are not alone.
