The team at Rare Disorders NZ are well underway with planning for Rare Disease Day 2023 (28 February) and Rare Disease Month 2023 (March). This year we have engaged the help of PR firm, Maia, to help make more impact around our campaign.
We are excited to share that the plan for the campaign includes extending Rare Disease Day out into a whole month, to allow us more time to get our messages out into the public and increase influence on decision makers. We are currently working on the messaging for the month, as well as packs to send out to all support groups to help us in this campaign.
We are going to need all the help we can get from the rare community to make rare visible and heard during this month, and we can’t wait to work with you to make this a success!
Some events taking place in Rare Disorders Month:
- Launch of a new Rare Disorders NZ Parent Guide by Her Excellency The Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro
- Rare Beer Challenge, Wellington and Auckland
- PaintVine fundraiser, Wellington
- Raising awareness and fundraising through schools, businesses and in the community
We have sent invites to you all for virtual meetings to tell you more and share resources. Look out for these invites and put them in your diaries.
We look forward to updating you with more information soon!
